Suspect sought for holding up North Charleston florist shop

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Investigators are on the lookout for a man who held up clerk at a North Charleston florist shop Friday afternoon.

According to the North Charleston Police Department, shortly after 3 p.m., a black male entered Hood's Florist at 5633 Dorchester Road and walked to the cooler.

The suspect then took a bouquet of flowers in a vase and proceeded to the checkout counter.

Police say as the store clerk began to ring him up, the suspect took out a handgun and demanded money. The suspect then fled around the back of the shopping center with the bouquet of flowers in hand.

Authorities describe the suspect as a black male wearing an orange short sleeve shirt, blue jeans, tan ball cap, and black shoes.
