Teacher fired after showing R-rated movie expected to file appeal

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - The 36-year-old Wando High School teacher fired after showing some students parts of an R-rated movie is going to wait a little longer to file his appeal.

Christopher Poston was fired after a student complained he showed part of "Jackass 2" with inappropriate material to a class full of students.

A lawyer for Poston says he now plans to appeal the decision on Thursday, rather than Monday.

The school district says Poston is no longer an employee, but the school board gets the final word on hiring and firing.

Poston will be paid during the appeals process.
