Search warrants lead to arrest of suspected drug dealers

ORANGEBURG COUNTY - Authorities have arrested five people after investigators found drugs in three homes in Orangeburg County.

The Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office arrested 61-year-old Joseph Fogle, 22-year-old Edward Ervin Hamilton and 28-year-old Raton L. Hampton for dealing drugs. Deputies also charged 20-year-old Jerry Walker Willis and 37-year-old James Bufort Dukes Jr. with simple possession of marijuana.

Investigators conducted three separate search warrants on Thursday at addresses in Cordova, Branchville and Orangeburg.

According to an incident report, as a result of all three warrants, 66.9 grams of marijuana, 27.75 grams of cocaine, 2.8 grams of crack cocaine, 5 codeine pills, 9 hydrocodone pills, nearly $2500 in currency and a loaded sawed off shotgun were seized as a result of the investigation.

"It is important to know that we are conducting lengthy investigations in the sell of narcotics in our community," Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said."And criminals should know that even though we have arrested you once, we will continue to work to disrupt your illegal enterprise."
