USS Laffey open to public

After a complete hull overhaul, the USS Laffey is now open to the general public at Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum.

Because of ongoing repairs and improvements, the ship is opening in phases. The first phase kicked off today and provides access to the main deck and above, including the post office, barber shop, sick bay, galley cross torpedo deck and much more.

Later phases will include the Laffey History Exhibit, DASH exhibit, Steam line, Crew's mess, Scullery and Renovation & Torpedo Storage.

The Laffey is expected to be completely open to the public by mid-April. The Laffey homecoming ceremony is scheduled for April 13.
