ORANGEBURG, SC (WCSC) - South Carolina State University officials named an acting president on Friday.
Rita Teal will hold the job until the university chooses an interim president.
Teal had been operating as the interim vice president for academic affairs. She was moved to that role after the university fired 8 administrators during an investigation into misconduct and mismanagement.
President George Cooper resigned earlier in March after the faculty senate asked him to leave.
