Cops: Man held newlyweds at gunpoint, took motorcycle

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Authorities have arrested a man accused of using to set up a meeting where he stole a motorcycle at gunpoint from a newlywed couple.

North Charleston Police Department officials say they arrested 20-year-old Fernando Javier Wright, of Summerville, in Columbia with the help of Summerville Police Department and the US Marshal Service.

Police say the couple thought they were meeting someone interested in buying their 2005 Suzuki GSXR 75 at the Harley Davidson dealership on Dorchester Road when Wright pulled a gun on them and stole the motorcycle.

Wright is charged with carjacking and armed robbery.

He is currently being held at the Dorchester County Detention Center on similar, unrelated charges.
