ORANGEBURG, SC (WIS/WCSC) - Oprah Winfrey visited the Orangeburg-Calhoun Regional Detention Center Friday to reportedly speak with the woman who admitted in court last week that she killed her two young boys and drove them into the Edisto River last August.
According to the Orangeburg Times and Democrat, Winfrey arrived at the Orangeburg Municipal Airport Friday afternoon and was driven straight to the jail where Shaquan Duley is awaiting sentencing.
Sources tell Live 5 News that Winfrey is working on a show for her "OWN" network that will include Duley and is scheduled to air a week from Sunday. Duley's mother, sister, father and attorney appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show back in September 2010.
Duley pleaded guilty last week to two charges of murder in the deaths of her sons, 2-year-old Devean and 18-month-old Ja'van. She admitted suffocating the boys and staging a car crash at a river outside of town.
The 30-year-old mother has been incarcerated since shortly after the 2010 incident. Duley will be sentenced on March 30. She faces between 30 years and life in prison.
