ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Deputies have arrested two people for a fatal shooting that took the life of a 19-year-old man at a bar and grill in Orangeburg.

The Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office has charged 17-year-old Jerrell Lee with murder in the death of a 19-year-old Holly Hill man. Authorities also charged 21-year-old Darren Rashad Abraham with pointing and presenting a firearm.

Investigators say that after 2 a.m. on Sunday, two groups of males were involved in an altercation inside Bill's Bar and Grill. The sheriff's office says that the fight continued outside of the business where shots were fired.

According to investigators, Lee told deputies he fired a handgun into a crowded area where the victim was found dead. Abraham also told authorities that he also pulled out his pistol and shot into the air while at the parking lot of the business.

When officers arrived, the victim was found lying next to a vehicle in the parking lot.

"I am proud of the fine work of the officers and investigators that responded Sunday morning," Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said. "These dedicated men and women worked all day Sunday into Monday morning to interview suspects and develop the leads that resulted in the arrests. It saddens us that a young life has been lost and another young person will face the consequences of his involvement in taking that life, but if you commit a crime, you are going to jail."
