Police: Traffic stop leads to drug charges for Williamsburg man

WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A small town in Williamsburg County is dealing with what police say is a growing drug problem.

The latest arrest took place around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday along South Main Street in Hemingway.

When police pulled over a speeding car, officers say they found several small bags of marijuana and cocaine that were stuffed into the seat.

A passenger in the car, 23-year-old Joseph Nesmith of Hemingway was arrested.

He's facing drug related charges and other violations. Another passenger was also taken into custody.
