CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Starting Thursday at noon, runners can pick up their race packets at the Bridge Run Expo at the Gaillard Auditorium on Calhoun Street.
The expo runs from noon until 8 p.m. Thursday and then from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.
The race route is the same as it was last year. Runners will line up for the wave start on Coleman Boulevard right at Moultrie Middle School. The route goes past Shem Creek and over the Ravenel Bridge down to Meeting Street where runners will make a left. Then runners will make a right on Woolfe Street then a left on King Street.
Runners will stay on King about a mile then make a left on Wentworth and a left on Meeting Street to hit the finish line near George Street.
The first ever Cooper River Bridge Run was held in 1978 with a total of 766 entrants. There were 653 men and only 113 female runners.
