Runners gear up for the Cooper River Bridge Run

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - People were lining up all day on Friday to pick up their race packets and check out the Bridge Expo for the Cooper River Bridge Run.

Last minute runners were looking up their bib numbers on Friday with some loading up on yogurt and protein bars.

Bob Jennings, who came down from Florida to race with his sons, said it was a fairly good experience to walk in and get all the information he needed to get set for the race.

"There were signs when you walked in and there were people waiting for you to help you out in anyway," Jennings said. "[My sons] and I participated last year and it was a great experience and I'm very excited about running tomorrow."

The weather is calling for a possibility of a few raindrops on the bridge run course during the morning, but not widespread rain.  The chance for rain will be around 40 to 50 percent with temperatures around 65 with a light wind out of the southwest.

Starting Saturday morning, Live 5 News will have live coverage from several locations throughout the race. Be sure to wake up with us starting at 7:25 a.m.

If you have pictures from the race we want to see them! You can send your pictures to For all your Bridge Run related stories be sure to check out our special bridge run section here.
