Heavy rain not expected during Bridge Run

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - It's a lucky morning for participants in the 35th Cooper River Bridge Run, as most of the heavy rain is clinging to the west along I-95.

Chief Meteorologist Bill Walsh says a few lighter showers are happening across parts of the Lowcountry, bot not near the course route at this point. During the race it will be mostly cloudy with a few breaks of sunshine.

The chance for rain will increase as the day goes on, Walsh says.

The high is 76 today, with rain chances capped at 50%.
