SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - A man wanted on burglary, kidnapping and armed robbery charges in Summerville was apprehended by authorities in Beaufort County early Tuesday.
The Summerville Police Department charged Jason Latroy James, 19, earlier this year in connection with two incidents which happened last December. Beaufort County Sheriff's Office deputies and US Marshals took him into custody.
In the first case, James and others are accused of breaking into a home where kids were staying alone.
"They forced these kids into a closet at gunpoint, stole large quantities of cash and guns. There was a lot of stuff stolen out of the house," said Capt. Jon Rogers with the Summerville Police Department.
According to officers who responded to the scene, the victims were completely terrorized during the incident.
Investigators say less than a month after the first crime, James allegedly robbed two people at gunpoint outside the Icehouse restaurant.
James will be taken to the Dorchester County Detention Center to await a bond hearing.
