Charges filed against trucker after wreck kills motorcyclist

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The driver of the 18-wheeler involved in a wreck which killed a motorcyclist Monday morning has been arrested.

The Charleston County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Goose Creek-native Scott Arrington, 44.  Officials say he died from blunt force trauma.

The North Charleston Police Department has charged 47-year-old Louis Hunter Jr. with reckless homicide.

North Charleston Police Department officials said the incident happened near Virginia Avenue around 7:30 a.m., when Hunter pulled onto Remount from a parking lot and collided with Arrington.

Arrington, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to the hospital but died a short time later.
