ORANGEBURG, SC (WCSC/WIS) - A 27-year-old man accused of killing two women in Orangeburg is due in court on Wednesday.
Vicente Mendoza is scheduled for an arraignment hearing Wednesday afternoon. He is accused of murdering of 21-year-old Hope Bowers and 37-year-old Latonia Profit. Both were found dead inside of an abandoned mobile home on Collinwood Road on March 18.
Mendoza was taken into custody in a trailer near Ville Platte, Louisiana earlier this month.
Deputies say Mendoza lived on Snake Swamp Road just around the corner from the crime scene. Investigators believe some time following the murders, Mendoza took Profit's SUV and drove to Louisiana.
Detectives found the vehicle about an hour west of Baton Rouge.
