
Goaltender Riley Gill stopped all 30 shots as the Kalamazoo Wings (6-1) shutout the South Carolina Stingrays (3-4) 3-0 in Game Three of the Eastern Conference Semifinals at the North Charleston Coliseum Wednesday night. The Wings lead the best-of-seven series 3-0.
The Wings kicked off the scoring early in the first period when forward Nick Sirota fired a pass from defenseman Wes O'Neill past the blocker of Stingrays goaltender Rob Madore (L, 20 saves on 23 shots) at 2:44. Less than a minute later, forward Justin Taylor put the Wings up 2-0 at 3:35 from forward Eric Kattelus and defenseman Harry Young. Forward Trent Daavettila completed the game scoring at 14:53 with help from Kattelus and Taylor. The Stingrays finished the night 0-for-3 on the power play while the Wings went 0-for-1.
Game Four of the Eastern Conference Semifinals series between the Stingrays and Kalamazoo Wings is Friday, April 20 at 7:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum.
