NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County Aviation Authority board approved the renovation plans for the Charleston International Airport on Thursday.
Last week, a panel approved the plans which call for a $150 million makeover featuring a large, glass dome to be constructed in the main lobby.
Board chairman Chip Limehouse says the dome will give a "wow factor" when you walk into the airport. Designers also hope it will brighten the lobby.
Other features of the plans include a gazebo, a fountain, or possibly a statue.
