Local airmen part of Secret Service scandal investigation

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - New details have emerged on a Secret Service prostitution scandal which includes a local airman being part of the investigation.

A total of 23 Americans are now under investigation and Live 5 News has confirmed that one of those is an airman stationed at the Charleston Air Force Base.

The military says 11 service members have returned to their commands. It says they have not been charged and are not under detention.

The service members were staying in the same Colombian hotel as Secret Service employees who are under investigation for alleged misconduct involving prostitutes.
