MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) -

Coast Guard crews suspended the search for 36-year-old Ronald Fowler, reported missing earlier this week, on Thursday morning.

Fowler's boat was found upside down 16 miles from shore on Tuesday.

Coast Guard officials say that over the course of 49 hours, crews went through a total of 15 search patterns encompassing 7,324.5 Square Nautical Miles.

Mt. Pleasant police say the man was last seen by his girlfriend on Monday around 11:45 a.m. The girlfriend told police that Fowler did not return to the home that evening.

Authorities say Fowler told his girlfriend that he was going to Shem Creek from the Bayview tidal creek using his 16' Mitzi Skiff boat which authorities found on Tuesday.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Mount Pleasant Police Department at (843) 884-4176.
