The Indianapolis Colts have drafted a second rookie tight end, taking Clemson's Dwayne Allen in the third round.
They also took Stanford's Coby Fleener in the second round at No. 34 overall.
At 6-foot-3, 255 pounds, Allen won the John Mackey Award as college football's top tight end. Fleener and Allen were generally considered the two best players at their position in the draft.
That gives new franchise quarterback Andrew Luck two young receivers to grow with, including his college teammate, Fleener.
The Colts selected Luck with the No. 1 overall pick Thursday and introduced him to the local fans and media Friday.
Indy is scheduled to make seven more draft picks Saturday, the third and final day of draft weekend.
