COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - A man has been charged with felony DUI after police say he struck and killed a pedestrian in Columbia.
Police say 24-year-old William Carlen was being held Saturday at the Richland County jail.
Police say Carlen was driving south near Columbia's Five Points area at around 4 a.m. Saturday when his SUV struck and killed a pedestrian who was in the crosswalk.
The victim's name has not been released. Investigators are reviewing surveillance video from the area.
Carlen has also been charged with driving under suspension and failure to surrender a suspended driver's license. It wasn't known if he had an attorney.
