Coroner identifies woman killed in Berkeley Co. crash

The Berkeley County Coroner's Office has identified the woman killed after driving off Highway 17A and striking a tree north of Moncks Corner on Monday morning.

Coroner Bill Salisbury identified the victim as 61-year-old Anna Geno of Goose Creek.  Salisbury said Geno was headed home from work after a 12-hour shift at the Georgetown Hospital.

He said she died of head and body trauma.

South Carolina Highway Patrol officials say the wreck happened around 8 a.m. near Willow Haven Lane, when the driver of a 2003 Mitsubishi heading south ran off the left side of the roadway and hit a tree.

Troopers say she was not wearing a seatbelt.
