Bond was set at $101,092 for a Summerville man accused of fatally striking a bicyclist with his truck and leaving the scene.

Jason Frank Marion was charged with leaving the scene of a collision resulting in death and failure to exercise due care. Marion surrendered to authorities Tuesday afternoon.

The coroner's office says 51-year-old Gerard Nieto of Charleston died at the scene of the Friday morning wreck along Savannah Highway near White Oak Drive.

According to an affidavit, Nieto was riding his bicycle in one lane of Highway 17 as Marion was traveling in his truck behind him. The affidavit states that Marion "failed to exercise due care" causing his vehicle to crash into the victim.

Authorities say Marion failed to give driver and vehicle information and render aid at the scene. An affidavit states that Marion fled the scene before officers arrived and did not contact local authorities about the incident.
