AC unit catches fire on roof of Berkeley High School

MONCKS CORNER, SC (WCSC) - Officials say Berkeley High School was briefly evacuated on Wednesday after a air-conditioning unit on the school's roof caught fire.

Berkeley County Schools spokesperson Kathie Sizemore says the AC unit was located on the roof of the auditorium of the school on West Main Street.

The fire alarm went off during lunch time, and the AC unit was taken out of service for replacement.

No one was injured.
