Coroner: Train death in Hanahan was suicide

HANAHAN, SC (WCSC) - The Berkeley County Coroner's Office says the woman killed after being hit by a train in Hanahan early Thursday morning was committing suicide.

The 53-year-old woman was found dead at the Hanahan Road crossing at 3:05 a.m. after she was struck by a northbound freight train, Coroner Bill Salisbury said.

Salisbury said the woman died from massive body and head trauma.
