Pinewood Prep ended the 2012 season in style by winning their 14th game in the last 16 tries and in the process clinching their 2nd state title in the last 4 years with an 11-3 win over Northwood Academy in game 3 of the SCISA AAA championship series.
The Chargers fall in the state title series for the 5th consecutive year.
The Panthers had already built up a 3-0 lead in the 4th inning when 3 more runs scored on a bases clearing error in the outfield by Northwood that allowed the score to jump to 6-0 and Pinewood never looked back.
J.D. Waite got the win on the mound for the Panthers and also chipped in an RBI single.
