Cops: Man leaves Walmart with cart full of cash after armed robbery

WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) - Walterboro Public Safety officers are looking for a man who walked out of Walmart last week with a special cart full of cash after holding two employees at gunpoint inside the store.

Major Ken Dasen says the suspect walked into the store on Bells Highway just before midnight on Thursday and approached two employees who were going from cash register to cash register, collecting money and placing it in a special cart to be taken back to the manager's office.

Dasen said the suspect pulled out a handgun, pointed a weapon at the employees' faces and then pointed it at the cart.

The victims said they took their hands off the cart, and the man grabbed it and walked out of the store.

Dasen said the cart was found outside in the store parking lot, but an undisclosed amount of money was taken.

The victims were not able to provide a description of the suspect.
