The executive chef of a historic downtown restaurant has been invited to be a guest chef at New York's James Beard House.
Poogan's Porch Executive Chef Daniel Doyle will display a six-course "Lowcountry Elegance" menu at the prestigious James Beard House on Thursday, June 14. Brad Ball, managing partner and sommelier of Poogan's Porch, will also join Doyle for wine pairings with each dish.
"Cooking at the James Beard House is an opportunity to showcase the caliber of cuisine at Poogan's Porch," said Doyle. "I am honored to have the privilege of cooking at the James Beard House, the home of culinary legacy."
Chefs who receive the honor to cook at the James Beard House are given the opportunity based on their reputation.
"It's only fitting that a historic house from the heart of Charleston should be showcased in our historic house in heart of Greenwich Village," says Izabela Wojcik, Director of House Programming for the James Beard Foundation. "It's going to be a wonderful night."
