DOWNTOWN (WCSC) - Spoleto does not officially begin until tomorrow, but that is not stopping the festival from getting an early start today with a few event previews.
The world-class Spoleto Festival USA and Charleston's Piccolo Spoleto Festival kicks off tomorrow, May 25 and runs through June 10. The 17-day festival brings around the clock events to Charleston featuring art, theater, dance, and a number of vocal and musical performances.
The opening reception for Piccolo Spoleto's "A Long Time Ago……" begins tonight at 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. This free event captures the art of storytelling through the use of artwork. The exhibit, which is held at City Gallery at Waterfront Park, will feature art by a number of local artists including Lisa Abernathy, Becca Barnet, Seth Corts and many more. The art exhibit will continue to run throughout Spoleto.
Also getting an early start tonight will be a couple of theater previews and a concert from Spoleto USA.
