NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - While one man was killed on Baxter Street after a shooting on Wednesday night, North Charleston police say they are also investigating a Tuesday night incident on the same street where a man was shot several times.

According to the North Charleston Police Department, the 23-year-old victim was riding his bicycle on Baxter Street just before 11 p.m. Tuesday when he saw a man standing in the middle of the road, dressed in all black.

The victim told police that as he got closer, the man pulled out a gun and started shooting at him. The victim said he fell off his bike to the ground and tried to run but "couldn't feel his legs."

The 23-year-old said he saw his assailant run between two houses on the street. Police said they recovered 10 shell casings at the scene.

The victim was taken to MUSC for treatment of his injuries. His condition is unknown.

Police say this incident does not appear to be related to the fatal shooting from Wednesday night.
