Cyclist released from hospital after Mt. Pleasant wreck

MT. PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - A cyclist has been released from MUSC on Friday after being injured during a wreck with a motorist in Mt. Pleasant, police say.

According to a Mt. Pleasant Police Department traffic report, the 47-year-old man was traveling south in the middle of Frontage Road near Shelmore Boulevard on a bicycle without proper lighting around 11:45 p.m. Thursday when he was struck by a motorist who didn't see him.

The report states the cyclist was struck in the rear with the front left fender.

Police said the motorist involved in the crash was not speeding, and will not be charged with a crime.
