SLIDESHOW: Surfers flock to Folly as Beryl moves on

FOLLY BEACH (WCSC) - As Tropical Storm Beryl heads away from Charleston, surfers made their way towards Folly Beach Wednesday morning to take advantage of the swells.

Hundreds of surfers have been out riding waves since the start of Memorial Day weekend, but they say the winds have calmed down to create a perfect storm for surfing, unlike the choppy waves from the weekend.

"It was pretty fun," said Kenny Goode, a lawyer who decided to hit the beach before heading into the office. "The tides a little low. It's maybe chest high, a little lower on some of the sets."

Although surfers say the best tide to catch is during mid-to-high incoming tide, that didn't stop these surfers from enjoying a morning surf.
