Mother killed in I-26 accident laid to rest

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A 23-year-old mother of three who was killed in a car accident on I-26 in Berkeley County was laid to rest on Monday.

Funeral services were held for Kayla Hunt at the Indian Field Church in Rosinville in Dorchester County.

The Berkeley County Coroner's Office says Hunt died after the SUV she was driving hit a tractor lawn mower in the area of mile marker 189 on I-26.

Highway Patrol troopers say Hunt was driving west on the interstate, when her SUV struck the tractor-mower, veered off the road and crashed.

Hunt's three children, who were in the SUV, were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. According to Hunt's family, the children are doing better.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
