HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (AP) - A Beaufort County middle school teacher who allegedly dragged a student under a table and told him "this is what the Nazis do to Jews" has entered a pre-trial intervention program.
Patricia Mulholland must complete counseling, anger management and community service to have assault and battery and disorderly conduct charges dismissed.
The attorney for the family of the 12-year-old boy Bluffton Middle School student involved in the incident says the family agreed to pre-trial intervention. Mulholland's attorney said earlier Mulholland was trying to teach students about the Holocaust.
She has been on paid administrative leave since the incident in late April. School district officials are awaiting details of Mulholland's pretrial program before making a decision on her employment.
