MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Police arrested a 17-year-old in late May after he was allegedly caught staying at a neighborhood clubhouse in Belle Hall Plantation.
Mount Pleasant Police Department charged Thomas Michael Hansen for trespassing after responding to the Belle Hall Plantation Amenity Center on May 27.
Police said they responded to the Belle Hall Plantation Amenity Center after an alarm went off and made contact with Hansen, who made it clear that he did not live in Belle Hall Plantation and that he was not visiting anyone there.
Rather, the report states Hansen said he liked to hang out there "because it's nice."
Officers also said that Hansen mentioned that he was homeless and that he rode his bike to Belle Hall Plantation from the Old Village, off Coleman Boulevard, where he was visiting a friend.
Police said Thomas was advised to contact a parent to pick him up but he said "he does not speak to his parents and he was not going to call them".
Officers warned him to contact his parents or he'd be placed under arrest for trespassing, but Hansen still refused, so he was arrested.
According to the incident report, Hansen's parents live off Ben Sawyer Boulevard.
