Person struck, killed by train in Berkeley Co.

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Authorities say a person was killed after being struck by a train near the Berkeley-Charleston county line on Sunday.

Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury said the incident happened around 7:30 p.m. near the Goose Creek bridges.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and the death is being investigated as a suicide, said Salisbury.

The Berkeley County Coroner's Office and the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office are investigating.
