WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Investigators say a burglar who attempted to break into a Subway in West Ashley Wednesday night apparently returned to the restaurant to finish the job.
Deputies with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office returned to the Subway on 3750 Savannah Highway on Thursday for a break-in.
The sheriff's office says deputies first responded to the restaurant around 10 p.m. on Wednesday in reference to an alarm. When deputies arrived they discovered that someone attempted to pry open the drive-thru window.
Deputies said the suspect did not gain access to the inside of the restaurant and nothing appeared to be missing.
However, later on at 12:30 a.m, the perpetrator apparently returned. This time, he was able to gain entrance through the drive-thru window.
Deputies said the suspect took food and money. Security cameras were not able to catch any view of the suspect.
