MOREHEAD CITY, NC (WCSC) -

A Charleston man captained a ship that won the premier Blue Marlin fishing tournament in North Carolina last week.

Flybuoy, captained by Robert Hollingsworth, of Charleston, captured the 54th Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament after catching a 499.3-pound blue marlin last Monday, according to the tournament website.

Tournament officials say the catch, reeled in by Todd Baxley, was enough to give Flybuoy first place in the competition and $494,710 in prize money.

Officials said Flybuoy's blue marlin is smaller than all but two Big Rock winners in the past 22 years, but it is bigger than all but one of the winners in the 1960s.
