WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

Authorities say a 27-year-old Kingstree man, who beat another man with a gun, is behind bars after his victim took his gun and shot him.

Bond was set at $100,000 for Kevin Bryant who is charged with assault and battery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The Williamsburg County Sheriff's Office responded to a fight that took place around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday at the yard of a home on Railroad Avenue off Highway 52 North.

According to investigators, Bryant was beating another man with a gun. Deputies say the victim then grabbed the gun and shot the suspect in the back.

The victim is expected to be okay.
