Local leaders add money to reward to catch teen's killer

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Local leaders have added money to the reward fund to catch Marley Lion's killer.

State representatives Chip Limehouse and Wendell Gilliard are both giving 500 dollars towards the reward. Lion used to work for Limehouse.

The 17 year old was murdered Saturday Night in West Ashley in the parking lot of "Famous Joe's" bar.

"We simply cannot tolerate this type of lawlessness in our community," Limehouse said in a statement released on Friday. "I look forward to working closely with Representative Wendell Gilliard and members of law enforcement to bring about a swift capture and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this heinous crime."

Charleston police say they're looking for two suspects in the teen's murder.

"Marley was an outstanding individual and had a bright future," Limehouse said. "He was a credit to our community and it is a shame to have lost him at such a young age. He will be sorely missed."
