Mt. Pleasant swimmers perform big at Olympic Trials

Omaha, NE (WCSC) - Two Mt. Pleasant swimmers are in the top 33 at the Olympic Trials.

Megan Kingsley and Zach Lierley swam in the Olympic Trials in Omaha, Nebraska yesterday. The trials began Monday, June 25 and will continue through Monday, July 2.

At 16-years old, Kingsley finished 25th in the Women's 400 Meter Individual Medley with a time of 4:50.83. Zach Lierley, 17, placed 33rd in the Men's 400m IM with a time of 4:26.25. Lierley is also scheduled to race in the 200m Backstroke and 200m IM.

The individual medley consists of four strokes, separated equally throughout the race. The strokes include the butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle. Ryan Lochte, 27, took yesterday's Men's 400m IM with a time of 4:07.06 and Elizabeth Beisel, 19, posted a time of 4:31.74 to lead all women.

A third Mt. Pleasant swimmer, Jon Lierley, will swim the 200 Fly on Wednesday. He is seeded 60 of 154 swimmers.
