ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Deputies have arrested a 49-year-old man accused of using a cement block to smash in a convenience store window and steal 12 cases of beer.
The Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office has charged Timothy Stewart of St. Matthews with second-degree burglary.
According to Sheriff Leroy Ravenell, Stewart used a cement block to bust a window open at the Quick Pantry on Bamberg Road on June 20.
Authorities say Stewart then took 12 cases of beer. Stewart was arrested on Saturday and given a $10,000 bond.
Ravenell said he thanks the community and the St. Matthews Police Department for helping to arrest Stewart, who investigators say was seen on surveillance video stealing the beer.
