Texas A+M is targeting South Carolina Athletic Director Eric Hyman to be their new A-D according to multiple reports coming out of the Lonestar State on Thursday night.
The school's president is expected to be given approval to negotiate a deal with a new Athletic Director as soon as Friday and the target appears to be Hyman.
Sunday will mark the seven year anniversary of Hyman's hiring in Columbia. It's also the day the Aggies make the move to the SEC. His time with South Carolina has been extremely successful resulting in 2 National Championships for the Baseball team, a spot in the SEC title game for the Football team and the recent hiring of Frank Martin as the Men's Basketball Head Coach.
Hyman has ties to Texas as he spent 8 seasons as the A-D at TCU before moving to Columbia. His son and daughter both still live in Fort Worth.
If he leaves the Gamecocks an early candidate to replace Hyman might be Head Baseball Coach Ray Tanner who has expressed an interest in becoming an AD in the past.
