Masked man wanted after armed robbery attempt in West Ashley

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Charleston police are looking for a suspect after an attempted armed robbery in West Ashley on Thursday night.

According to Corporal Fred Bowie, a masked man walked into the Subway at 13 Magnolia Road and confronted the manager with a firearm, who then fled the business.

Bowie said the armed robber made an unsuccessful attempt to pry open the drawer to the cash register, then left by the rear door.

The suspect is described as a heavily-built black male appearing to be in his early 20s, standing 5'8" tall.  The suspect was wearing all black during the attempted robbery.
