CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

The Charleston Police Department has arrested a suspect they say could be responsible for a number of burglaries in the Orange Grove and North Bridge areas.

Javan Jordan, 18, of North Charleston surrendered to police on Saturday.

Police had a warrant out on Jordan in connection to a burglary that occurred around 1 p.m. on Monday, June 28 at the 1200 block of Winchester Drive.

According to an incident report, the victim says a male entered his home without the victims knowledge and went upstairs. The victim says he saw the suspect as he came back downstairs, and the suspect ran out the back door.

Police say the suspect entered through a screen door by cutting it to gain access to the back porch, and used a crowbar to force open the residence's French door. A report goes on to say that items were thrown all around the rooms upstairs.

Jordan went before a bond court judge Sunday morning where he received a $20,000 bond on charges for 2nd degree burglary.
