Officials say a man was left hanging high in the air over the weekend after he fell from a large limb he was cutting in Colleton County.
According to Colleton County Fire & Rescue, the incident happened in the backyard of a home at 7312 Hendersonville Highway around 11:30 a.m. That's just south of Walterboro.
Authorities say the man was cutting a large limb when he fell and the safety harness kept him from hitting the ground. However, it left him hanging 35 feet in the air.
Firefighters used a fire truck bucket to lift themselves underneath the man, and he was carefully placed in the bucket before being brought to the ground, responders said.
The man complained of back pain, but insisted he didn't want to go to the hospital, officials added.
