GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) - Firefighters are trying to determine what caused a Goose Creek home to catch fire early Tuesday morning.
Goose Creek Fire Department crews responded to a home at 100 Cuthbert Drive, right off Old Back River Road, after a neighbor's call came in just before 7 a.m.
Officials said they arrived to find flames coming from the roof. The home suffered significant interior and exterior damage.
The family that lived in the home was out of town, officials said.
Old Back River Road was shut down for about two hours while crews worked the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
