Bond set for 4 men arrested in 'Operation Dirty Laundry'

Bond has been set for the four men who were arrested Thursday after police seized drugs, weapons and cash as a part of "Operation Dirty Laundry," an investigation into alleged drug activity at laundry rooms attached to vacant residences in the Ashley Shores community.

According to a report, the four men who were arrested by officers with the North Charleston Police Department went through bond court yesterday. Altonio Hamilton Jr. had his bond set at $60,000, and Eric Carter, Rayshard McClary and Ridonte Calvary had their bonds set at $125,000 each.

Police say they searched the laundry rooms attached to vacant residences at 3804 Ashley Shores Drive, 3814 Ashley Shores Drive, and 2864 South Casaway Lane and found a loaded "Tech 9" pistol, 11 ounces of marijuana, a digital scale, and 3.3 grams of cocaine.

A release states police then searched a residence at 2845 Ashley Shores Drive and found 40 grams of marijuana, items used to weigh and distribute illegal drugs, and a handgun with the serial number filed off. The resident, 26-year-old Altonio Hamilton Jr., was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana within a half mile proximity to a school and possession of a firearm with a obliterated serial number.

Police also search a home at 3813 Scarpa Street, where they found 9 grams of cocaine, 9 grams of cocaine base, cash, and almost five pounds of marijuana, a release states. Police arrested 19-year-old Eric Carter, 24-year-old Rayshard McClary, and 21-year-old Ridonte Calvary and charged them with possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine base and possession with the intent to distribute marijuana.

Calvary was also charged with three arrest warrants for trafficking cocaine, trafficking cocaine base, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, which were from a previous search warrant at this residence in May 2012, police added.

All four suspects were taken to the Charleston County Detention Center.
