SLIDESHOW: Golf tournament on Kiawah raises over $5,000 for Debi's Kids

Golfers competed Thursday on Kiawah Island in order to raise money for Debi's Kids.

Seven teams of four took on the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort on Wednesday as part of the Debi's Kids Charity Golf Outing. The 18-hole captain's choice tournament raised over $5,000 for the charity.

Participants were able to purchase mulligans for $10 a pop and a silent auction was held after the tournament, helping to raise money for a good cause. The money will be used to buy Christmas gifts for kids in the Lowcountry whose families could not afford them on their own.

Live 5 News staff, including anchors Raphael James and Andy Pruit, and Meteorologist Brad Miller, all played in the tournament.

Team Polly's Fine Jewelry came away with the tournament win, ending the day with an incredible 17-under on the par 72 course. Owner Richard Moore played in a foursome with his son and others.

Teams from Crews Chevrolet, Red's Ice House, Wild Wing Cafe and Southcoast Community Bank were also present.

The Ocean Course will be the site of the PGA Championship in August.
