Cigarettes and money stolen in early morning Kangaroo armed robbery

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Officers with the Charleston Police Department are searching for two suspects they say robbed a gas station at gunpoint early this morning.

Police say two black males entered the Kangaroo Express at 1805 Savannah Hwy. around 12:50 a.m. on Saturday morning.

According to a report, one of the suspects pulled out a revolver and demanded the store clerk to open the register and then get on the floor. Once the register was open, officers say one of the suspects took the money from the register while the other suspect stole several packs of cigarettes.

The two suspects then left the gas station using the entrance on the Wappoo Road side of the store.

Images from the gas station's security camera show one of the two suspects wearing a black shirt with a long sleeve white shirt underneath and sunglasses.
